Garmin Connect
UI design study

A personal UI design study from 2020, inspired by Garmin Connect. The starting point was my desire to combine activities, training data, and personal content into a clear and concise mobile interface. My focus was on information hierarchy, navigation, and visual design. This project is an independent, fictional concept created without any commission or collaboration with Garmin.

Designed in the concept:

  • Navigation and visual information hierarchy

  • Overview of personal content and activities

  • Route views with training data

  • Overview of friends' activities

  • Entry points into training and coaching

  • Music and recommendations as complementary concept features

Garmin Mobile App – visual cover with branding and modern app interface
Information architecture and low-fidelity wireframes of the Garmin Mobile App – user flow and page structure
Garmin Mobile App color palette – coordinated UI colors for fitness tracking and user guidance
Login and welcome screen of the Garmin Mobile app – entry into the personalized user experience
Overview of recent driving activities – data analysis and GPS-based recordings
Overview of recent driving activities – data analysis and GPS-based recordings
Recent training routes in the Garmin app – map view with route details and distance
Garmin app features: Music integration, view and interact with friends' activities

Result and classification

The screenshots demonstrate my design approach: a dark interface, color-coded activity data, and recurring maps for quick orientation. From information architecture and wireframes to detailed views, the visual structure is central.

The result is a UI concept study, not a released app. Claims regarding improved usability could only be substantiated through user testing. If further development were to occur, I would test navigation, readability, and contrast.
